I’m a fifteen year old girl who is overweight. I have tried dieting, counting carbs, exercising, and I only got small results. Are there any tips or tricks there are to lose weight?

How much treadmill do I need to do to lose weight?

I follow a healthy, low fat diet and have just begun to run on a treadmill at home. I typically run on the treadmill at 4-7mph for 45 minutes per session (I am a beginner). So far, I am not losing any weight. How much of this do I need to do in order to lose weight? I weigh 105pounds and my target heart rate is 98-166. Thanks.

A common misconception of people who undergo diet procedures is that if they miss a meal, chances are strong that they will lose weight as well. This is so not true. When you miss a meal, it is just natural that you go hungry and start craving for food. The hungrier you become, the more food you eat. And, the plan to lose weight by skipping meals fires back at you.

The body needs food to keep it strong and healthy. The issue here now is not that you’re eating, but what food enters your body. You may be thinking that with the food you’re eating you’re providing nourishment for the body. What you may not be aware of is that the foods you eat are being stored not as energy, but as fat deposits.

So, if you want to lose your excess poundage, eat smart. Start by ensuring you don’t skip any meals. Skipping meals can make you feel weaker, plus, when you starve yourself, chances are you’ll start developing another illness, that is, ulcers. Try to eat small amounts of food instead of gobbling large amounts that are harder to burn.

Eat more vegetables and fruits, and moderate your intake of carbohydrates and fats. Proteins are good at making you feel full even if you have eaten only a small amount of food. Go for whole wheat and brown breads instead of the regular white breads as these are high in carbohydrates and sugar content. Mind your calories and eat more food rich in fiber.

For a more effective diet program, double your efforts by increasing your physical activities. Walk instead of taking a cab if you’re going to the mall that is a block or two away from where you are. Join sports clubs and attend aerobics sessions. Do yoga. Run. Cycle. Swim. There really are a lot of activities that you can do to keep yourself mobile. Do these activities consistently and be happily surprised with the results.

For sure, you’ll never go the same old route again.

Finally, we are starting to get the concept of how good exercise is for us because the older we get, our habits also change and we find ourselves putting on a few pounds. We even find it hard to keep up with younger children or even grandchildren.

An elliptical trainer is a great cardio workout that does not put any strains on my joints. Currently, it is my choice of exercise.

It can be measured up to a treadmill because it works the same areas; nonetheless, there is no stress on the knees and ankles that are similar with pounding the treadmill.

The workout you get from an elliptical is remarkable, as you are not only getting the cardio benefits but you are also burning calories, toning up your thighs, legs as well as the butt in the process. Since you use little energy, you obtain these benefits without thumping a hard surface.

An elliptical trainer costs a lot less than other exercise machines and can therefore be used easily at home. There are also different settings that you can use to change the programs when you feel physically fit so you can constantly keep pushing yourself. However, you can find them in the gym too.

Frankly, the elliptical is so simple to use despite the fact that people may not have set it at the correct level or use it in the proper way, and the benefits that they should be getting are not achieved.

Your best option is to get a machine that has handles which swing with you if you feel wobbly using the elliptical and can’t stop leaning on the bars. These keeps you balanced as you obtain the utmost effect from your workout.
