Most of us have tried everything to make our children eat well. Some of you, the lucky ones, have had no trouble at all. Time is extremely important but when you neglect spending most of it with your children, it’s no wonder disasters occur. Healthy eating can calm your children’s energy, sharpen their minds, and balance their moods. Unfortunately, when they spend more time with the TV than they do with their parents, they get attacked by commercials that teach them junk food is good.

I am totally against vegan or vegetarian diets. Not even adults should embrace them, unless they are over 40 and in good physical condition. These patterns of eating deprive children of very important nutrients that can be found in meat. Did you know that meat provides many micronutrients that a growing body needs? Animal proteins give your kids vitamin B12, zinc, calcium, vitamin A and iron.

A few months ago our son refused to see meat, let alone eat it! These days he can’t wait to have steaks or grilled chicken. I am a very grateful mother, especially now that I’ve read the conclusions of a recent study. It seems that children who eat meat develop more muscle mass and get high scores on mental testing. All sensible doctors say children should eat all kinds of meat, as long as it is fresh, lean and cooked in a healthy way. You shouldn’t do the same mistake I did during my son’s infancy.
